The Principality of Walkoria, (Principality of Motuotau) is an island micronation off the coast of northern New Zealand and was self-declared an independent sovereign state on the 15'th day of May 2010, freeing itself from New Zealand territory and law.

Over 70 people from 22 different nations across the globe have successfully been granted Walkorian citizenship. This makes our nation a truly diverse place. With a common understanding of peace & sustainability, the Principality of Walkoria has a fair claim as one of the most culturally rich nations on earth. 

Walkoria is an antipodean subtropical island paradise abundant with life in every corner. For this reason we have no plans for any permanent infrastructure. There are walking tracks and our natural harbour as well as a small clearing on the top of the island where the capitol 'Nova Asum' is situated.

We are proudly a carbon neutral nation, therefor all visits to Walkoria Island shall be taken on the Walkorian Explorer (a sea kayak). Walkoria strives to set the benchmark for a fairer and more sustainable way of living. A standard in which we hope other nations will follow. 

Our nation is divided into three provinces for ease of navigation and to reflect the three noticeable differences in Walkoria's landscape. The capitol 'Nova Asum' sits on the divide of the three provinces.
To the south & stretching through the east is Reginopolis. This is where the natural harbour is situated and the main entrance to the island.
To the west is Cape Secession. This province is bursting with life and stunning views.
And to the north is Pacifica. Considered the most beautiful province, it holds some of the best snorkeling & fishing as well as stunning cliffs and coves.

The Principality is proud to the be the worlds first Pastafarian nation. We are dedicated to tolerance towards other religions and cultural backgrounds but offer no special exceptions to them as we are a secular state promoting free thinking, science and nature.

The Principality of Walkoria claims the uninhabited region of Antarctica known as  'Marie Byrd Land' (Walkorian Australis), the western half of the region in north Africa known as 'Bir Tawil Triangle' (Walkorian afrikaa) ,  the 1.3km² arctic island known as Hans Island (Walkorian Arktikos), the small rocky land known as Walkorian Antarktikos found to the west of Enderby Island in the south pacific & the tiny Islet in the Atlantic ocean known as Rockall (Walkorian Atlantik), which was previously claimed as 'Waveland' & run/settled by Greenpeace. The Principality of Walkoria fully considers these uninhabited lands as part of it's extended territory and retains absolute rule over them. Due to Marie Byrd Lands huge scale, The Principality of Walkoria's claimed landmass currently measures a staggering 1,606,031 km².

Important News as of 3/3/2012

Falkland Islands flag.

The principality of Walkoria has declared economic sanctions upon Argentina for its aggression surrounding the Falkland islands. 


In addition to this, no Argentine flag carrying ship may pass through the waters of the Principality or any of it's overseas territories.

Any Argentine products we were using will be sourced elsewhere.

We reject this kind of backwards aggression towards a peaceful island peoples that wish to remain under the protection of the United Kingdom.
